Little Elm Lift Station Renovations Project

Owner: City of Cedar Park

Contact Person: Kenneth Wheeler, P.E.

Current Phone Number: 512 258-4121, ext. 6350

Completion Date: 2006

Construction Cost: ~$556,000

Project Description:

This project consisted of designing a replacement lift station for an existing suction lift wastewater pump station for the City of Cedar Park. Project tasks included developing alternative designs for a cast in place dry well/wet well type lift station versus a prefabricated, steel dry well/wet well lift station and a submersible pump lift station. The project is particularly challenging due to the extremely limited available working area (approximately 6,000 square feet), the need to maintain service at the existing lift station during construction, and ground water.

The project includes a triplex submersible pump lift station, external valve vault, a galvanized, structural steel shelter with a monorail and hoist, odor control system, wastewater gravity line installation, SCADA, instrumentation and control, paving, and decommissioning of the existing lift station.

Services Provided:

Mr. Allen's responsibilities included overall project management, client interface, development of alternative designs, development of project budgets and opinions of probable costs, contract document preparation, QA/QC, coordination with project team members including survey, structural, and electrical sub-consultants. Construction phase services will consist of interpreting the contract documents, responding to RFIs, reviewing pay applications, reviewing submittals, development of a start up plan, and review of change proposal requests.
